ABOUT FRASER COAST AUSSIE HELPERS

AUSTRALIA is a big wide Country and very beautiful. The majority of its population lve in the coastal areas surrounded by the vast seas however right in the middle lies a dustbowl.

Australia is currently in the grip of a drought that is the worst in 100 years and although we are surrounded by water, those suffering most are the farmers who are tirelessly struggling to survive in the bush. With some places having no rain for 5 years now, there is no food or water on the land for the stock to survive and many are dying of starvation or farmers are having to euthanaise their own animals.

The farmers are paying a huge amount of money each year to ship in food and water for their stock alone with little in return. If there is no water for the animals then you can imagine what it is like for these already struggling families - no clean running water for showers or just for drinking.

Whilst many of us are doing it tough, they do not breed them tougher than out in the bush. Even when they are just struggling to survive day to day, they still battle on - true Aussie Battlers.

This is where we decided to lend a hand.

We decided to start a Fraser Coast chapter in conjunction with Aussie Helpers - a non profit, fully volunteer based charity, to help raise much needed funds for stock feed, water, diesel and basic school supplies for the children.

We have some wonderful fundraising ideas floating around and 2014 will be the year we will bring these to fruition and make a difference in the lives of these struggling farmers.

We need your help to do this so any donations can be made via the donation tab (it redirects you to the Aussie Helpers donation page) or get involved in our fundraising drives.

Lets help our fellow Aussies out :)
